"Richard Pitwon (Ceo) - Resolute Photonics In this talk we will introduce the latest developments in quantum standardisation relevant to future hyperscale data centres. 2024 has been the most eventful year so far for quantum standards with the launch of IEC/ISO Joint Technical Committee 3 - Quantum Technologies at the beginning of the year- which will serve as the most holistic body for quantum standards. JTC3 however explicitly excludes IEC TC86 - fibre optics- which represents a huge gap as fibre optics- including integrated photonics- accounts for the majority of quantum technologies. In order to address this critical gap- a new working group will be proposed in 2024 in the IEC Technical Committee Fibre Optics. IEC TC86 WG10 - Quantum Interconnects will prepare the first international standards and specifications for fibre optic components for quantum technologies and applications including quantum networks- quantum communication- quantum computation- quantum metrology- quantum sensing- quantum imaging."
