An Old Guy, an old Goldwing & an old Mini Mate – A Day Off at Old Man River– 2025 Ep.22

Time for a boring day off video. I’m staying two nights at Cottonwood Provincial Campground, just down from Old Man Dam, outside Pincher Creek, Alberta. There are almost no one at the campground. I’m okay with pit toilets and there is water available. Time to do laundry and get some supplies, so it’s a twenty minute run into Pincher Creek through a very large area of wind turbines. A lot of them are not moving. Interesting to see so many with the hydro electric facility right beside them. First things first, I stop at Tim’s for coffee and breakfast, must be at least 2 weeks since my last fix. Interesting that I noted I did the same amount of laundry at the wonderfully named Pincher Creek Coin Wash for $4.50 that it took just over $12.00 (with exchange) to do in West Yellowstone eight days ago. Too much of the veggies were in family sized proportions at the Walmart but I did get something for supper and want to point out that if you make a purchase at Walmart you can get cash back without an ATM fee. I know I will be needing cash in the next few days. When I left the campsite this morning, I put my solar water heating bag out on the table. Although it has been a mix of sun and cloud, the water is the warmer side of lukewarm and I get a chance to wash my hair and clean up. Not a proper shower but a well needed refresh. Supper ended up being a can of maple flavoured baked beans with BBQ sausage cut up and added to it. I have time to reflect on the fact this has been a different kind of trip for me. I haven’t done as much cooking or as much camping for that matter. I do have time to edit the long overdue “Intro to the Goldwing” although it will be a few days before I am able to get enough internet to upload it. Tomorrow I am into British Columbia and a couple of days at Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground.
