Blue Peter dedicates an entire edition of the show to resident daredevil John Noakes, as he trains with the RAF Flying Falcons in an attempt to become the first civilian to do a five-mile freefall jump. The cameras follow John's progress, from his basic training with the Flying Falcons at the Parachute Training School at RAF Abingdon, to completing a two-mile freefall jump, to learning all about the breathing equipment that he would need to wear for the five-mile drop. The breathtaking aerial footage of the freefalls was captured by RAF Falcons camera operators, Bob Souter and Doug Fletcher. Taken from Blue Peter, originally broadcast on BBC One, Monday 8 October, 1973.
