Today, we show you step by step how to get out of temporary or permanent lock-out mode on your oil or gas heating furnace. Please keep in mind that if your furnace goes into lock-out mode, that usually means there is an issue within your furnace system. Sometimes a furnace will go into temporary lock-out mode for whatever reason, after you reset the temporary lock-out red button by pushing and holding it for 2-3 seconds, the system should reset and the furnace should work normally for a certain amout of time. In some cases after pushing the red reset lock-out button, and the system does Not reset, that means the issue is permanant and will need to be repaired until you could get the furnace out of permanent lock-out mode. Temporary lock-out mode requires you to push and hold the red reset button for 2-3 seconds in order to reset the system. Permanent lock-out mode requires you to push and hold the red reset button for 45-60 seconds continuously, then the green light should flash on & off letting you know the system is out of permanent lock-out mode. But temporary or permanent lock-out mode most of the times indicates an issue with your heating furnace, and that a repair is needed for your furnace to work properly again. If you ever experience lock-out mode, always check the basics first, like ensuring you have plenty of oil or gas in your sytem, making sure the electrodes and nozzle are clean of debris, make sure the oil or gas line doesnt have air in it, make sure filter is clean, ETC...All those minor things could trigger lock-out mode on your system.
