You Fell for the oldest TRICK in the BOOK 📙 About DANTE : In Devil May Cry 4 , Dante arrives in the isolated religious city of Fortuna during a ceremony held by the Order of the Sword and shocks everyone by shooting and seemingly killing their leader, Sanctus, instantly making himself look like a ruthless villain; however, Dante already knows the Order secretly worships Sparda in a twisted way, using demonic power, artificial demons, and weapons to try to create a false god to control humanity, which goes directly against Sparda’s true ideals; as chaos spreads through Fortuna, Nero, a young knight of the Order with a mysterious demonic arm, pursues Dante across the city, unaware that Dante is actually dismantling the Order from within and deliberately testing Nero’s strength and character after sensing his connection to Sparda’s bloodline; midway through the story, Dante becomes playable and works with Trish—who has infiltrated the Order disguised as Gloria—to destroy demon laboratories and uncover the truth that Sanctus survived and plans to merge with the colossal demonic statue known as the Savior using Sparda’s power; Dante retrieves the Yamato, Vergil’s legendary sword, and realizes Nero is Vergil’s son, making him Dante’s nephew, which explains Nero’s immense potential; rather than taking control of the situation himself, Dante chooses to trust Nero to face Sanctus and the Savior, stepping back and allowing the next generation to prove itself, and after Nero defeats Sanctus and saves Fortuna, Dante leaves peacefully, satisfied that Sparda’s legacy is safe and that the world has a new protector—showing Dante not just as a powerful demon hunter, but as a guardian who knows when to fight and when to let others rise.
