Based on Chapter 17 of the Diamond Sutra, “The Ultimate Meaning of No-Self,” this video offers a profound exploration of the Buddhist wisdom of no-self (anātman) and emptiness (śūnyatā). Following the dialogue between the Buddha and Subhūti, the teaching gently guides us to examine one of our deepest attachments: the idea of “I”—and even the subtle attachment to having attained enlightenment. In this chapter, the Buddha makes it clear that the thought of saving beings, the thought of adorning a Buddha land, and even the thought of practicing the Bodhisattva path are all forms of conceptual fixation when they remain within grasping and discrimination. No matter how noble or profound a practice may seem, if the mind still holds onto thoughts such as “I have done this” or “I have attained that,” it has not yet reached the ultimate wisdom. This video explains why the Diamond Sutra says that there is nothing truly attained in enlightenment, why a Bodhisattva exists yet cannot be grasped as a Bodhisattva, and why only one who has fully realized the truth of no-self can be called a genuine Bodhisattva. It also introduces two ways of contemplating emptiness— analytical emptiness and direct emptiness— revealing that emptiness is not mere nothingness, but a wisdom that cuts through attachment at its root. When we clearly see that all things arise only through conditions and possess no fixed or independent essence, the boundary between practitioner and practice dissolves, opening the space of suchness (tathatā) beyond subject and object. This video invites reflection on a different kind of practice— not one that accumulates or achieves, but one that lets go, again and again, pointing to why letting go itself is the ultimate path taught in Buddhism. #DiamondSutra #chapter17 #NoSelf #Emptiness #BuddhistWisdom #BuddhistTeachings #BodhisattvaPath #PrajnaWisdom #NonAttachment #LettingGo #Mindfulness #Meditation #SpiritualWisdom #InnerFreedom #AwakeningMind #PathToLiberation #BeyondEgo #Suchness #Buddhism #Zen #NoEgo #Awareness #Wisdom #StillMind #Sunyata #Anatman #Tathata #Mahāyāna #BuddhistPhilosophy
