Very similar to many Chinese made radios. When you go into repeaterbook.com and find the closest repeater to you, record these four setting: Frequency (Downlink) Uplink, Offset and the Tone number. Here are the steps for how to program and connect to a repeater: Special Buttons (F, A/B, VFO): F or Function button, VFO button and A/B button. Notice the different colors on each button. White indicates pressing the button by itself and Blue represents the Function or F button. For example, F * locks the keypad, A/B can change between the upper and lower channels shown on the screen or when in VFO Mode A/B is exit or back out of a function. VFO MODE: Press the # button. Variable Frequency Oscillator to select a frequency. SELECT FREQUENCY: Use keypad to enter the downlink frequency. SELECT – or + Offset: F 26, Press F, us UP or DOWN to toggle – or + or OFF. Press F to save, A/B to exit. OFFSET: Press F 22, Press F, enter Offset number, Press F again, press A/B. TONE (C-CDC, R-CDC and T-CDC): Press F 23 (C-CDC), Press F, toggle up or down to Tone number, Press F, Press A/B. This will automatically set F 24 and F 25 to the same tone. SAVE to CHANNEL: Press and hold F button. Channel number on right will flash. Toggle up or down to desired channel number, Press # to save, Setting are saved to the selected channel. Press # button to exit VFO Mode. Channel Number displayed next to frequency for the new repeater. NAME CHANNEL: Press F 37, F, toggle up and down to select letter, Press * for next character, repeat until name is spelled out. Press F. Press A/B to exit. DISPLAY NAME: F 22, F, toggle ON. Press F, Press A/B to exit. Name should display. DELETE CHANNEL: Press # to enter VFO Mode. Press and hold F until Channel number flashes. Toggle up or down to channel you want to delete. Press *. Channel will be deleted and return you back to Channel 1. You can tell if you are connected to the repeater by the tower and bars showing in the top left corner, the downlink changing to the uplink number and the arrow on the left turning white. Please make sure you do not talk into the radio once connected unless you have an FCC License!
