Dragonfly in gouache and watercolour

This is a slideshow of photographs taken during the process of painting a dragonfly. I don't often work with backgrounds so this something a bit different for me - the background is in transparent watercolour, and the dragonfly is in gouache. I'm a natural history illustrator living in Jerrabomberra, near Canberra, Australia. I've been painting botanical watercolours for many years and more recently insects. I teach painting both botanical and insects in watercolour. I'll be sharing with you some demonstration videos and time lapses of paintings I'm working on.
