Matchbox Twenty, on their A Brief History of Everything Tour 2017 perform Mad Season, a song about "the wild ride that the band has been on since success hit", at the AK-Chin Pavillion (now called the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre) in Phoenix, Arizona on August 2, 2017. Mad Season was written by Rob Thomas and was the title and sixth track and third single from Matchbox Twenty's second studio album released in May 2000. Mad Season peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, number 1 on the Australian albums and number 3 on the Canadian Albums charts. The single peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Hot 100, although it got a lot of radio play, peaking at number 5 on the US Adult Pop Airplay singles.
