Lyrics: Well, Trouble began 20 years before Right at the end of the First World War The winners, France, America, Italy, and the UK For repairing what was broken, Germany had to pay The sum was so outrageous, bitterness ensued With the seeds of Hitler planted as their leading dude Now, over in Japan, who won some land in the War Their military wanted to conquer more Its strength threatened their government, who bowed in fear And they grew their influence and weapons, year by year Tojo’d run the military’s ruthless war And use their Emperor Hirohito as a god to fight for In Europe, Germany and Russia made a secret deal That when Germany grabbed Poland, they’d be in on the steal They invaded September 1st, 1939 And the Russians took a portion, which to them, was just fine Blitzkrieg, or Lightning War’s what the Germans planned War began that day, as Nazi flags flew over the land The next to fall was France (Belgium and Holland did, too) In May of 1940, the Ardennes, they rushed through They moved so fast, the British at Dunkirk had to flee And by mid-June, Paris cafes were serving the Germans coffee Around that time, Italy attacked France, joining in the fight In July, the Battle of Britain began, with aircraft in flight In June of ’41, the Germans turned on their ‘friend’, and Invaded Russia, a move they always intended The US tried to limit the expansion of Japan Which made the December attack on Pearl Harbor their plan Japan destroyed a part of America’s naval powers Though the aircraft carriers were away during those decisive hours In the first six months of ’42, we suffered defeat In the islands, until at Midway we sunk the Japanese fleet That November, in North Africa, the allied force lands To drive the Germans and Italians from the hot desert sands While formations of bombers fly from England to drop Bombs on German plants and cities till the Germans say stop In ’43, the battle of Stalingrad’s stopped in its tracks The Germans driven out under Russian counterattacks Also, this year began the island-hopping campaign Where US forces jumped to islands to establish its reign In July, landings in Italy were for a German rout The Italians became allies, when Mussolini was thrown out In ’44, islands like Tinian and Saipan Had air bases built to bomb the island of Japan On June 6th, the allies landed on the beaches in France To begin the pushing back of Germans with their advance Though December’s Battle of the Bulge was Germany’s last try To change the war’s victorious side, it failed to comply. So, in ’45, Germany crumbled by land and air the Soviets and Americans closed in on Hitler’s lair By May, Hitler and the war in Europe have both reached their end But the Pacific war still raged, with no end, some portend Nuclear bombs fell on Japan and as the mushroom clouds rose The shock, and Soviet threats brought this war to a close.
