Behind the scenes studio session with Ace Frehley / Mr. Big drummer. Aside from being a session drummer myself, as well as a record producer, songwriter, and mixer...I also record most projects I make myself. Sometimes I simply get hired to be an engineer for other's recording projects. I love that too!! Thank you again for bringing me in on your projects Matt!! This iPhone vid is from one of several recording sessions a while back where I was hired to record drums for friend and notable drummer Matt Starr. You will see him during his process of hearing the song for the first time, working out parts in his head, to a full on smack down on his awesome Ludwig Kit and Paiste Cymbals. What a fun time getting to record a drummer with Matt's reputation and musical sonics and sensibilities! We would go on to work together to record his drums for the Black Swan band project, as well as tons of various other artists sending Matt tracks to play on remotely. What a good dude and fun time!
