It snowed non-stop for three days many I spoke to recall, and because of the Freezing/Arctic conditions, the snow lasted on the ground for months in places. We talk about farming at the time and also how the conditions affected Mass going and funerals and what people did to survive because a lot of water wells were frozen over and many depended on food grown by themselves. We talk about other local stories from that time in 1947 and we recall the 1947 All Ireland Final which was played that year at the Polo Grounds New York which Cavan won by beating Kerry.
