You can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl! I am a Vermont native so it was a treat to return to one of my favorite towns in the state to enjoy some skiing, wining & dining and fresh air at the Stowe Mountain Lodge this winter. The Lodge is internationally known for it's excellence in service and highest quality. After spending a weekend there I have to agree. A highlight for me was the cozy fireplace lounges throughout the hotel AND in the rooms. Plus the dinner at the fine dining restaurant, Solstice, was unforgettable and the ski valet service made it SO easy to get on the slopes! I could call from my room and my skis and warmed boots were waiting for me just outside the ski lodge. Do not miss apres-ski by the fireplace--it's the place to be around 4-6pm when everyone is warming up after an active day on the slopes. Part 1 of 4: Stowe Mountain Lodge Series
