The different fungal diseases we commonly face in our garden are: 1. Soil-borne Fungal Diseases such as Damping-off in new seedlings, Mold fungus on the soil etc. 2. Downy Mildew 3. Powdery Mildew 4. Blight diseases (Fire Blight, Early Blight and Late Blight) 5. Fungal Leaf Spot or Black Spot on leaves 6. Rust Fungus 7. Fruit Rot Fungus such as Blossom end rot, Brown rot etc. Note that, some of these diseases are actually caused by bacteria, hence known as Bacterial Infection, but interesting those can be treated using a proper fungicide. I mainly focus on how to identify the particular fungal disease and distinguish from other diseases. I also mention about a broad-spectrum chemical fungicide which is a combination of systemic and contact fungicide which can be used to treat and prevent several fungal problems. This fungicide is a mixture of Mancozeb (contact fungicide) and Carbendazim (systemic fungicide). The fungicide I used here is called Sprint from the company 'Indofil', but you can use a similar and perhaps the most popular fungicide SAAF from the company UPL. The Sprint fungicide contains a mixture of 25% Carbendazim and 50% Mancozeb, whereas the SAAF contains 12% Carbendazim and 63% Mancozeb.
