This is how you find out which pages on a website are helping a site rank and steal topical authority for SEO! Read the full note here: https://seonotebook.notion.site/Topic... Topical SEO is one of the most important ranking factors for Google. This note shows you how to see what pages your competitors have written to rank for their chosen keyword. Hey everyone, Steve Toth here from SEO Notebook. If you're struggling to rank for your keywords in your niche, I have a killer tip for you today which shows you how to identify what pages and how many pages your competitors have on certain topics. In just a few minutes, I'm going to show you how I find out which supporting pages are propping up sites for difficult keywords so you can build a content strategy around them and start to outrank competitors. So, let's say you're trying to rank for car insurance. You need to know which pages on your competitor's websites are helping them to rank. It's actually really simple. All you need to do is use a site search on Google which is a super sneaky way of determining internal linking your competitors have used and keywords each page ranks for! Go to Google and type in "site: pasteURLhere.com then "keyword" For example, site search allstate.com car insurance. This will show you all the pages on Allstate.com that are relevant to car insurance and are propping up their main page. You can do this for all your competitors to find out what topics and pages are helping them build topical authority and rank higher on Google. Now, once you have a list of these supporting pages, you can create similar content for your website and start ranking for those difficult keywords too. If you're starting a brand new site, this is perfect because it lays out all the topically relevant content you need for that keyword. One tip is to prioritise these pages using Ahrefs batch analysis, so you can focus on the ones that will give you the biggest traffic and ranking boosts. Easy! Step 1: Do a Google search for your target keyword. Step 2: Identify the top competitors for that keyword by looking at the top-ranking results. Step 3: Do a site search for each competitor's website using your target keyword (e.g. "site:allstate.com car insurance"). Step 4: Look at the pages on each competitor's website that are relevant to your target keyword. Step 5: Make a list of the URLs for those pages - I use SEO Minion to download the URLs. Step 6: Analyse the URLs using a tool like Ahrefs' batch analysis to determine the amount of traffic and keywords for each page. Step 7: Prioritise the pages based on their traffic and keyword ranking, and work on creating similar content to those pages to support your main page for the target keyword.
