Alexi Laiho playing Prog on an Ibanez Guitar | T.O.L.K.

Hey guys, here is some old/rare footage of Alexi Laiho playing some proggy music on an Ibanez guitar when he was 17yo. This was with his band “T.O.L.K.” and this sample video was from a show on 5-4-1997. It’s surprising to many of us seeing Alexi with an Ibanez as he is synonymous with Jackson and ESP guitars and that I know of, this is the only footage of him even holding an Ibanez. I also believe that this is the guitar he used to record the albums “Something Wild” by COB and “Beware the Heavens” by Sinergy as those albums have a distinctive guitar tone with parts in which it’s obvious Alexi is using a neck pickup. It’s clear that the guitar Alexi is using is an Ibanez RG series, I just don’t know exactly which particular model. I downloaded this video off some website last year when Kimberly Goss posted IG clips of this show(you should check them out) and was blown away by not only seeing Alexi playing an Ibanez but also by how cool/whacky some of the playing was. To my knowledge, there isn’t a YouTube video of the full show but Kimberly Goss showed on IG that she has a VHS copy of the entire show so hopefully she’ll upload that sometime in the future.
