Romanucci & Blandin client Unyime Williams and Senior Attorney Daisy Ayllón spoke with NBC4 Columbus about the recent filing of Williams’ legal complaint detailing sexual abuse by a laboratory worker at a Columbus medical clinic where she was undergoing a medical exam for her green card. Williams, a Nigerian immigrant, originally came to the United States on a student visa, before taking a job at Walmart. All green card applicants are required to undergo a medical examination performed by a doctor designated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). It was at her screening that Williams was sexually assaulted by an employee of Trust Medical Services in Columbus, Ohio. Williams hopes that by telling her story, she is able to raise awareness of this behavior so others don't have to endure what she has. "I should be this voice, to speak up. I may be able to [help] one more African immigrant in this country," Williams noted. Williams is being represented by the sexual abuse and misconduct attorneys at Romanucci & Blandin in Chicago, Illinois.
