This cover is based on the full unedited version from the Rooftop Concert, before Phil Spector cut it down. You can hear it on the 2022 release: Get Back – The Rooftop Performance Dig A Pony was recorded live on Jan 30th 1969. You can see the rooftop footage in the Let It Be and Get Back movies. The song begins with a false start because Ringo was smoking a cigarette and shouts 'hold it!' George played his 1968 Fender Rosewood Telecaster. He plugged into a Fender Twin Reverb amp. George's solo is my favorite Beatles guitar solo, I love the energy of this whole performance I'm achieving the crunch by using boost pedals into my 1974 Fender Pro Reverb, a very similar amp to their Twin Reverbs. I'm plugged into the vibrato channel, set clean on volume 3 George used the middle position of his Telecaster. He is seen turning up the volume and tone knobs at various points of this song (see timestamps below) For George's Tele, I'm using my Analogman King of Tone (boost side) into the Bad Bob Boost MY GEAR: 2010's Fender MIJ Rosewood Telecaster 1974 Fender Pro Reverb (Weber 12" speakers) Analogman King of Tone Analogman Bad Bob Boost Neumann TLM-103 Thanks for watching!
