#19 Ofuna Kannon is located near Ofuna Station, the north gateway to Kamakura City. It was built in 1960 wishing for peace. It’s about 5-minute walk from Ofuna Station and there are parking lots nearby, so you can easily get there. It’s March now. Plum blossom season is over, too early for cherry blossom but, there are beautiful early-bloom cherry blossoms “Tamanawa Sakura” in the premises. “Tamanawa Sakura” was born from cross breeding in Ofuna Botanical Garden which is near Ofuna Kannon. “Tamanawa” is a name of the area in Kamakura City.
