At ISE 2025, Craig Davey from Listen Technologies and Ampetronic presented Auri™, an assistive listening system utilizing Auracast™ technology. Auri™ delivers high-quality, low-latency audio directly to hearing aids, smartphones, or dedicated receivers, improving accessibility in lecture halls, meeting rooms, and public venues. The system consists of network-installed transmitters, dedicated receivers, docking stations, and management software, ensuring seamless integration and ease of use. Auri™ is now available for deployment, marking a significant advancement in assistive listening technology. Auracast™ transforms traditional Bluetooth by enabling one-to-many broadcasting. Instead of pairing devices individually, a single transmitter can stream audio to multiple receivers simultaneously. Users can connect via dedicated receivers with neck loops for hearing aid compatibility or directly through modern smartphones equipped with Auracast™ chipsets, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23, S24, or A55. Craig Davey demonstrated Auri™'s intuitive user experience, showcasing how connecting to an Auracast™ broadcast is as simple as selecting a channel in the Bluetooth settings—no app required. The system supports both open and encrypted channels, allowing venues to secure streams with PIN or QR code authentication. With an ultra-low latency of approximately 30 milliseconds, Auri™ ensures perfectly synchronized audio for lectures, theater performances, and live events. The Auri™ transmitter is available in Dante and non-Dante models, offering analog and digital audio inputs, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and USB-C power options. Notably, it can function as a portable assistive listening solution by using a power bank, making it ideal for temporary or outdoor installations. Multiple transmitters can be linked together to expand coverage or add more channels, with AI Manager software providing centralized control. 0:00 Introduction to Auri™ and Auracast™ technology 0:22 Demonstration of dedicated receiver and neck loop for hearing aids 1:12 Connecting via Auracast™-enabled smartphones and earbuds 1:56 Encrypted vs. open channels and authentication options 3:21 Transmitter features: Dante integration, analog inputs, and power options 4:35 Portable deployment using a power bank 5:46 Low-latency demonstration and real-world applications 7:21 Managing multiple transmitters and expanding coverage 9:47 AI Manager software for encryption and multi-zone control For more information on Auri™ and assistive listening solutions, visit: https://www.listentech.com https://www.ampetronic.com This presentation was delivered to the team from NTNU Section for Teaching, Learning and Digital Services. https://www.ntnu.edu/adm/edudivision/sld
