OHANA. Family. Chandler HS Football has taken over the state of Arizona the last decade with their record-setting offense behind the wizardry of former Offensive Coordinator and current Head Coach, Rick Garrettson. The family mindset has been in place since former HC and current Arizona State RB coach, Shaun Aguano, adopted the Hawaiian value for the program. Coach Garrettson has carried on the tradition and then some. From having rosters of 25 in the early '90s to becoming the #6 high school in the country in terms of active players in the NFL, the Wolves are now a perennial top 10 program in the country. In this episode of #eTSChalkTalk, we learn about the man that has been charged with keeping the success alive in the desert. Rick is a former Dean of Students at Servite HS (Anaheim, CA) and business owner, that has had a career rebirth in his first season at the helm. Rick's vast experience helped direct Chandler to being crowned the first-ever Arizona Open Division Champion. He speaks on his journey into the coaching world, his brother's long career as head of NBA referees, and the Falcon pass concept. Another point worth noting, Rick has developed some of the premier QB's at the high school level during his time at Chandler. Notable alumni include Brett Hundley, Mikey Keene, Bryce Perkins, and Jacob Conover. If you like a good story and a good QB, then look no further. A 62-year-old first-time Head Coach takes his program to their first-ever undefeated state championship.
