To celebrate World Book Day, our Year 9 students took a fascinating journey through the history of the book — from the earliest forms of writing to the digital reading revolution of today. As part of a special project, students delivered presentations tracing the evolution of written communication, beginning with ancient papyrus scrolls, moving through the transformative invention of the printing press, and concluding with the rise of e‑books and modern digital publishing. Their work highlighted how each stage of innovation has shaped the way knowledge is shared, preserved, and accessed across centuries. The presentations were thoughtful, creative, and full of curiosity, showcasing not only the students’ research skills but also their appreciation for the power of reading in all its forms. It was a fitting celebration of World Book Day and a reminder of how stories — whether printed or digital — continue to connect and inspire us.
