Under the frozen ground during the mid-winter full moon, the natural world is preparing to “spring” back to life. In the Jewish tradition we celebrate this moment as Tu B’ Shevat, the “New Year of the Trees.” On this evening, we celebrate Shabbat in the multi-purpose room around tables so that we can also participate in the holiday seder, tasting the fruits of the trees, and express our gratitude for all the blessings in nature. We are also joined by our Israel/Palestine Scholar-in-Residence, Jared Goldfarb, who shared a special reflection at the seder.
