Loneliness has been a huge problem during the coronavirus pandemic and it’s only getting worse - new research has found that four in ten people say they haven’t had a meaningful conversation with another adult in the last fortnight. But ex-footballer and Spurs legend Gary Mabbutt is determined to help - and since March, he’s made over 1,300 phone calls to elderly and vulnerable Tottenham fans in the hopes of brightening their day. Gary joins us to tell us why he felt compelled to help, alongside widower Martin Parkus, a recipient of one of Gary’s calls, who shares why that 30 minute call meant so much to him.
