“Spectre” was Daniel Craigs 4th James Bond Film. Sam Smiths song “Writing’s on the Wall” was chosen as the title track and he recorded the theme song after a slew of big name contenders were in the running including Lana Del Rey, Radiohead and Ellie Goulding. This song was received with very mixed reviews as Smith put his signature sound on this track. And while he is known for his high pitched falsetto vocals throughout most of his more successful tracks. At first listen it almost felt a bit out of place for this 007 fan. But having listened to it many more times I’m going to eat my words. This song really it a beautiful piece of art that along with the powerful orchestra really does have a modern James Bond element to it. Smith went on record with the Golden Globes Media to say in an interview that this song is just about love. He was moved by the ending of the film and how Bond chooses Love over all. The song feels like a premonition, as well as a metaphor in so many ways for the film, which I’m sure is also by design. As a personal favorite of mine in the series. I really do love the movie Spectre, and I’m excited to add this 45 LP record to my collection. 👀Watch my other Reaction Videos 🔽 • James Bond Theme Song & Music Breakdown Vi... 🛍️SHOP MY MERCH https://the-bond-report.printify.me Amazon Store https://www.amazon.com/shop/thebondre... Lyrics: I've been here before But always hit the floor I've spent a lifetime running And I always get away But with you I'm feeling something That makes me want to stay I'm prepared for this I never shoot to miss But I feel like a storm is coming If I'm gonna make it through the day Then there's no more use in running This is something I gotta face If I risk it all Could you break my fall? How do I live? How do I breathe? When you're not here I'm suffocating I want to feel love run through my blood Tell me is this where I give it all up? For you I have to risk it all 'Cause the writing's on the wall A million shards of glass That haunt me from my past As the stars begin to gather And the light begins to fade When all hope begins to shatter Know that I won't be afraid If I risk it all Could you break my fall? How do I live? How do I breathe? When you're not here I'm suffocating I want to feel love, run through my blood Tell me is this where I give it all up? For you I have to risk it all 'Cause the writing's on the wall The writing's on the wall How do I live? How do I breathe? When you're not here I'm suffocating I want to feel love run through my blood Tell me is this where I give it all up? How do I live? How do I breathe?
