Akayo Singers subscribes to the Seventh Day Adventist Church and our local church is at Kakiika, Mbarara town in Western Uganda, EA. We are also registered as a CBO in Mbarara municipality and we have an office/shop at room No 24, Balya Plaza building on Makhan Singh street where we do our private business and as a contact place for bookings etc. We are basically a private voluntary ministry in gospel music and drama since 1995. We have 11 audio albums and 21 video songs. This particular song; Niwe Ogwo, literally meaning he is the one, was first released in 2004 on our 5th audio album titled AMATSIKO G'OMUNTU and later released as a video on our first video album TUSINGWIIRE in 2008. It is in vernacular Runyakitara and tells the story on how Peter betrayed our Lord Jesus Christ to be crucified. Most of our songs are Bible based stories and are well packaged to suit different functions including evangelistic meetings, seminars, worship hour, weddings, give aways, thanksgiving, baptism, camp meetings, graduation parties, name it. We sing in 5 different languages so far including English, Swahili and Kinyarwanda.
