Shipwreck SS Thistlegorm exploration 🔦 | Red sea | Egypt 2024

Dive to perhaps the most renowned wreck in the Red Sea: the SS Thistlegorm. This British merchant vessel played a crucial role in World War II, transporting military supplies for the Allies. Her last voyage in 1941, when she was only a year old, was to deliver a vital cargo of ammunition, vehicles, motorbikes, tanks, a train set, and other equipment to Allied forces stationed in Alexandria, North Africa. However, on October 6th, just after midnight, the ship was hit by bombs. These bombs were originally intended for the famous Queen Mary, but German bombers had failed to locate their primary target. Diving to the wreck, which rests at a depth of 15 to 30 meters, can be challenging due to frequent currents.
