I'm marking the Armistice day anniversary by uploading three pieces by Ernest Bristow Farrar: Chorale-Prelude on 'St Bride' Op. 7 No. 1 Chorale-Prelude on 'St Mary' Op. 7 No. 2 Chorale-Prelude on the hymn tune by J. S. Bach Op. 37 No. 1 I recorded two versions of the Chorale-Prelude on 'St Mary', and had problems choosing between them, so have included both (the second is at the end of the recording). Farrar was an organist and composer who studied under Stanford and in turn taught Finzi. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards, and was killed at the Battle of Ephey Ronssoy on 18 September 1918.
