🌍 Puerto de Mogán – Serenity Climb – GC200 & GC605 Adventure | Gran Canaria Cycling 🚴♂️🌲 This ride starts from Puerto de Mogán and follows the legendary GC-200 via Mogán until the beginning of the famous Serenity Climb. Climbing up toward Mirador El Mulato, the road transforms into something truly special — pine forests, wide open mountain views, minimal traffic, and a landscape that feels more like a national park than a typical island road. This section is without question the main highlight of the ride. From there, the route continued toward GC-605 aiming for Ayacata, but the road was closed at Presa de las Niñas, forcing a turnaround. The ride then descended toward GC-505, where a wrong turn led to Soria — a perfect excuse for a lunch stop. After continuing to a dead end, it was time to backtrack again, reconnect via Las Filipinas, and finally return to San Agustín through Maspalomas along the coastal GC-500. 🏔️ Ride highlights: The Serenity Climb’s pine forest atmosphere Mirador El Mulato panoramic views Quiet inland mountain roads Unexpected detours and route improvisation Long coastal return on GC-500 📍 Route details: Start: Puerto de Mogán Road: GC-200, GC-605, GC-505, GC-500 Finish: San Agustín Distance: 74km Elevation gain: 1496m Taxi from San Agustín to Puerto de Mogán cost 45 euros. (GC-500 is closed) This ride perfectly shows how cycling in Gran Canaria often becomes an adventure — road closures, wrong turns, spontaneous lunch stops — but that’s exactly what makes it memorable. The group took a longer route, so i played the scout to check the GC-605 closure, afterwards i was not able to change the route on my watch and got a bit lost.
