Some other facts about Sadie: (as best as I know it) 1. Manson did not give Atkins the nickname "Sadie" because of the Beatles song "Sexy Sadie" - he met and named her before the release of the song, which features on the Beatles' "White Album". 2. The lyric "Charlie's broken .22" refers to the broken grip of the .22 revolver which Tex Watson used in the murders. He threw the gun away but it was later retrieved and used against the family in court. 3. the lyric "white coats" most likely refers to the doctors or psychiatrists who evaluated Sadie. There's an excellent series available on DVD called "Most Evil". It deals with serial killers. The series, which aired on Discovery, is very informative and doesn't glorify the violence and killings, instead the series dives into the minds of the killers and their psychology. There's also an episode on Manson and his (ex) followers. The DVD is cheap and is roughly 640 minutes long - I highly recommend it. As for this video, I wasn't trying to say anything - just show the facts as I know it - also, I love this band and "Sadie" is my favourite Alkaline Trio song. I think it's incredibly beautiful.
