More details on our website: https://www.isglobal.org/ Video transcription: ISGlobal is first and foremost a centre that works by generating knowledge through scientific research and taking it where it is needed to have a transformative impact. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone can enjoy good health, and we do this with a focus on equity, paying special attention to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. ISGlobal employs approximately 600 people of 50 different nationalities. Eighty per cent of them are involved in scientific research, grouped around five major research programmes. Our scientific agenda takes a broad view of the health challenges facing the world. We work on infectious diseases such as malaria, Chagas disease, and viral and bacterial infections, as well as non-communicable diseases, urban health, and the impact of environment and climate on health. Our translational areas are concerned with taking this knowledge out of the scientific journals and transferring it to broad sectors of society, whether through training and communication, policy advocacy or development projects. All this is in line with the objectives of sustainable development and thanks to the support of the institutions that make up our Board of Trustees.
