Learn All About the Canna Lily Plants in My Garden from Growing Them by Seeds, Rhizomes & Plants

I love the Canna Lilies in my tropical garden. In this video, I show everything about these amazing plants with videos that I have taken over the past two years. I cover how I harvest and collect the seeds then how I germinate the canna lily seeds by scarifying them and show how fast they grow. I show how I care for with tips on growing these wonderful plants. I show all the varieties that I am growing with their beautiful flowers abd variegated leaves. I have over a dozen different varieties of Canna Lilies growing in my California garden. With so many rhizomes, I'm able to experiment with different ways of overwintering them, including growing them in water in the fall and winter months. Many retailers sell them as Canna Lily bulbs, but they are actually rhizomes, that are easy to propagate to grow new plants. I show how I plant the rhizomes in the garden, deadhead and prune the flowers, and overwinter them to grow the next season.
