I have been having some issues that point towards thermostat and water pump issues. my fan has been running at high speeds more often and i am getting low coolant warnings when the coolant is full. i also scanned for codes and there is a shadow code showing water pump was turned off due to blockage. i also got an overheat warning but then everything went back to normal. if you have a bmw with an n54 or an n55 you probably will want to look at replacing the electric water pump and the thermostat at some point especially if you have over 100k miles. this is a great preventative maintenance item as well as a good diy for those facing similar issues. in addition i go over the process on how to bleed the cooling system to make sure the coolant does not have air in it. this process can be used on most bmws of this era. check out some of my other bmw videos and subscribe for more to come.
