The Office of the Cabinet through the Office of the National Security Advisor proudly hosts the 2026 Security Seminar under the theme, “Shaping National Security Outcomes from Vision to Action: Citizen Security, Institutional Resilience and Peace.” This high-level national forum brings together policymakers, security leaders, regional partners, private sector stakeholders, academia, and civil society to examine Jamaica’s evolving security landscape and to translate strategic vision into measurable action. Context In an increasingly complex global environment marked by transnational crime, cyber threats, climate vulnerabilities, and geopolitical shifts, national security extends beyond traditional defense. It encompasses citizen safety, institutional strength, digital resilience, and sustainable peace. Jamaica continues to strengthen its integrated security framework to respond proactively to both emerging and persistent threats. History & Strategic Foundation The Security Seminar builds on Jamaica’s long-standing commitment to national security reform, modernization of law enforcement, intelligence coordination, and whole-of-government collaboration. Over the years, national security dialogues have served as critical platforms for reviewing policy direction, evaluating institutional performance, and reinforcing partnerships that safeguard the nation’s stability and prosperity.
