November was a busy month at Lembeh — from underwater photography workshops above the surface to unforgettable animal encounters below it. Here are some of our favorite moments from the month: 00:33 – Warty Frogfish A master of camouflage, the Warty Frogfish blends seamlessly into its surroundings with bumps, warts, and bold coloration. Always a favorite among photographers, its quirky looks and lightning-fast predatory strike make every sighting memorable. 00:34 – Ornate Ghost Pipefish Drifting delicately around crinoids and feather stars, the Ornate Ghost Pipefish is one of the Strait’s most elegant critters. Perfectly patterned and often found in pairs, this species is a rewarding find for patient and observant divers. 01:05 – Puffer Pulled Into the Sand A rare and fascinating behavior—this pufferfish was seen being momentarily pulled into the sand by an unseen predator beneath. A dramatic reminder of the complex, hidden interactions happening just below the surface. 01:15 – Blue Ring Octopus Small but unmistakably powerful, the Blue Ring Octopus made a surprise appearance in November. Its iridescent blue rings flashed brightly in warning, giving us a thrilling yet respectful one-on-one moment with this iconic species. 01:32 – Hairy Frogfish One of Lembeh’s most sought-after critters, the Hairy Frogfish never disappoints. With its shaggy appearance and ability to "walk" along the seafloor, this charismatic predator is always a highlight on any dive.
