LAPD Officers Shoot Man Moments After He Stabs His Wife

(Disclaimer: The content in this video is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Los Angeles, California — On May 16, 2025, around 12:55 p.m., Los Angeles Police Officers responded to a call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) in the 7800 block of Beck Avenue. The comments of the call indicated the suspect, 23-year-old Jose Gonzalez Ramos, had stabbed his wife multiple times. When officers arrived at the multi-unit property, they were directed by witnesses to a pathway that ran between units. There, they encountered Ramos, who was advancing toward the officers with a knife raised in his right hand, resulting in an Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) and the deployment of a 40mm less lethal launcher. Ramos was struck by gunfire and fell to the ground, where he was taken into custody. After the OIS, officers continued down the pathway, where they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department transported both Ramos and the stabbing victim to a local hospital, where they both died from their injuries. A knife was recovered from next to Ramos and booked as evidence.
