Lake Eyre could be staring down another massive flooding event, potentially even bigger than what was seen last year, as a major rainfall event develops in the region around the lake. Falls between 200-300mm appear likely north and east of Lake Eyre. There is increasing signals for heavy rainfall around other parts of Queensland as well, that should be monitored closely. Flooding is likely to continue in Far North Queensland as further rain ramps up there.
