The Rode Videomic NTG hissing / self-noise floor was fixed with the latest firmware from Rode after my first video about it was uploaded, and then I did the unthinkable: combined it with a Deity HD-TX, but now it sounds like the Sennheiser MKH-416 + Mixpre 3 and you probably couldn't tell them apart. I also tested it on the Nikon Z6, Fuji XT3, and Lumix GH5. I also tested the Synco Mic D2, which is supposed to sound a lot like the Sennheiser MKH-416.. but after re-watching and listening, I feel like their windscreen on the Synco muffles too much audio for it to get close.
