We had just arrived at Helsinki Vantaa Airport on a Finnair Flight from Copenhagen. Our next flight was to Tallinn in Estonia also with Finnair. As all the countries we arrive and depart at from are EU countries (and Schengen Member countries) we did not have to pass through Immigration / Passport control at Helsinki Vantaa Airport. If you flight was to a country outside of the EU, to a Non-Schengen member country you would have to pass through Immigration / passport control and maybe also Security Control.
