Wind warnings continue in Southern California, dense fog advisories are impacting parts of the Central Valley, and sneaker waves remain a danger along the coast. Add in very warm temperatures — with 80s showing up in parts of California — and we’ve got a classic California weather split today. Rain is still not showing up anytime soon, and you’ll see that clearly in the computer models. We’ll walk through the latest satellite loop, then dig into the GFS model, including jet stream, vorticity, precipitable water, sea level pressure, and rainfall accumulation — all pointing to a continued dry pattern. We also keep an eye on fog and localized air quality issues this morning, especially in the valleys. Then it’s California north to south with live cameras and observations — from far Northern California to Tahoe, the deserts, the coast, and down to San Diego. We finish up with earthquakes, Surfline live cameras from Ocean Beach, and some awesome Nature Snaps, including a stop at a place we’ve never featured before near Walker (ghost town area), plus skiing, and Venice Beach. If you love California geography, real-time conditions, and how the atmosphere is driving what you feel outside today — you’re in the right place. 🌤️🌊🏔️ ⏱️ Chapter Descriptions (YouTube Chapters) 00:00 — Active California Advisories This Morning Wind warnings, dense fog advisories, sneaker wave risk, and warm temps 04:00 — Satellite Loop & Current Pattern Fog development, offshore flow, and dry skies 04:38 — Warm California Today Who hits the 80s and where the heat shows up 05:42 — GFS Computer Model Breakdown Jet stream, vorticity, precipitable water, sea level pressure, rainfall totals 10:56 — California North to South (Live Cameras) Yreka / Alturas area, Northern Valley, Tahoe, Big Pine, Soledad, Santa Barbara to Los Angeles, deserts, and San Diego — 7 views, 4 cameras 19:00 — Today & Tomorrow Across California How long the warmth, wind, and fog stick around 19:58 — National Forecast & Travel Weather 22:41 — Earthquakes Update 22:47 — Surfline Live Cameras Ocean Beach and coastal wave conditions 24:28 — Nature Snaps Walker ghost town area, skiing, and Venice Beach 🌟 Welcome to Bill Martin's Weather Channel! 🌟 I’m Bill Martin, chief meteorologist at KTU Channel 2, the Bay Area's #1 news station, with nearly 35 years of experience in delivering accurate and engaging weather forecasts. With a solid educational foundation, including an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley in climatology and physical geography, along with postgraduate work at San Francisco State in atmospheric science, I am also a proud Certified Broadcast Meteorologist recognized by the American Meteorological Society. Having grown up in Paradise—the town that faced the heart-wrenching reality of wildfires—I’ve developed a personal connection to the landscape and weather patterns of Northern California. As a fifth-generation Northern Californian with pioneer ancestry, my love for this state runs deep. For over 45 years, I've surfed the stunning California coastline, from Santa Cruz to Ocean Beach, gaining an intricate understanding of how the ocean influences our weather. But that’s not all—I’m also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding. My passion for California's natural beauty and the outdoors enriches my approach to meteorology. On this channel, I aim to break down complex weather patterns into easy-to-understand insights that empower you to grasp what’s happening in our vibrant California climate. My goal is to guide you in accessing a wealth of free information and resources, enabling you to interpret weather data on your own.
