A smoke show today from some surplus / obsolete integrated circuits I had some of which were brand new but was unable to sell on eBay. So rather than just bin them I had some fun by putting way too much voltage and current through them till the magic smoke escaped. Some of you may recognise some of these chips from my avionics teardowns. Unfortunately these chips were not really reusable however I did gain some useful parts from scrapping some aircraft parts. They made a terrible smell though. Maybe I should have done it outside or used an extractor fan... I managed to get some more cheap aircraft parts too. So I will be doing some more avionics teardowns when I get round to it in between working. Got something really cool with some space grade electronics in it. The sort of electronics you see in satellites.
