Nonetheless, since groups were not allowed then, they were introduced as Nelly Croatto accompained by Tim and Tony. This year also saw the first non-European performers: Indonesian singer Anneke Grönloh was the first as she performed earlier in the running order — Los TNT, an Italian-Uruguayan group, were the second. A stage invasion occurred before the previous entry (Belgium) in which a man came into the stage with a sign reading "Boycott Franco & Salazar" in protest to the Spanish and Portuguese dictatorships.
