In this video, we break down why Borderlands 4 has received a PEGI 18 rating. Story: Borderlands 4 is an action role-play, first person shooter game developed by Gearbox and published by 2K. In this newest instalment in the chaotic, post-apocalyptic series, players once again take on the role of a Vault Hunter, a ruthless gun for hire who travels the galaxy, hunting for treasure within alien vaults. As players explore and discover the secrets of the vast world of Kairos, they will arm themselves with an arsenal of deadly weapons, mow down hordes of extraterrestrial enemies, and upgrade their hunter with new skills and loot.There are both solo player and co-op modes, so you can take on the dangers of the Borderlands with a friend, either online or local split-screen play. Age Rating: Borderlands 4 has received a PEGI 18, which restricts the game to adults only. This rating has been given because the game features the use of strong language and strong graphic violence, including graphic, bloody violence towards human characters. Players can use a variety of weapons and environmental hazards to violently dispatch enemies, with most showing characters being decapitated, dismembered or completely eviscerated and blown to pieces, all showing a large and exaggerated amount of blood. This game also contains strong language, references to suicide and infrequent strong sexual references and items. This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of cosmetic packs and additional missions which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items. The game was released on September 12th 2025 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X&S and PC.
