I continue SimPit Rally Championship #11 in EA SPORTS WRC with Rally Sardegna in the WRC 2017-2021 class, coming in after a strong P4 finish in Croatia, but this round quickly turned into a complete struggle. From the opening stages the car felt unpredictable and difficult to control, with almost no confidence in grip, while the fixed setup proved far too soft and high, causing excessive squatting and unstable behavior through Sardegna’s rough gravel sections. On top of that, a major hardware issue struck mid-rally when my Fanatec handbrake recalibrated during gameplay, disrupting muscle memory and making it impossible to drive consistently the way I normally do. With focus shifting from rally pace to adapting to broken inputs, mistakes began stacking up, frustration grew, and the run became more about survival than performance. Despite all the chaos, I’m currently holding provisional P3 for the event. Conclusion: This rally highlighted how quickly performance can collapse when both setup and hardware work against you, especially in a championship with no setup freedom and high pressure. The Fanatec handbrake V2 stiffness has also been twisting my NLR shifter/handbrake mount for a long time, and this event made it clear that my rig needs a proper redesign to handle the loadcell forces reliably.
