Who Are You Following? Romans 8:14 teaches that those led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. Humanity has always sought companionship for belonging, protection, and validation. Religion has become a refuge for this desire, forming communities where people feel “normal” and secure. Christianity, in particular, centers on congregations led by pastors or bishops—human figures granted spiritual authority and trusted to guide others toward heaven. This reliance on human leaders is a deception. No flesh-and-blood person can make another righteous before God or turn them into a child of God. Scripture warns of blind leaders leading the blind into destruction. Yeshua condemned religious authorities of His time—scribes and Pharisees—as hypocrites who blocked access to the kingdom of heaven. Yeshua is the only Good Shepherd. He did not die so believers would continue to be led by men, but so they could be reconciled to God and led directly by Him. Though Yeshua taught His disciples in the flesh, He said He must depart so the Comforter—the Holy Spirit—could come to teach and lead them. A human teacher, therefore, obstructs the work of the Spirit. Christianity has built a religion led by men, preventing believers from being taught by the Spirit of Truth. Scripture concludes plainly: those led by the Spirit are sons of God; those led by men are sons of men. Flesh produces flesh; only the Spirit produces spirit. Light cannot fellowship with darkness. God alone is pure Light; all humans are darkness. Those who truly belong to God seek fellowship with Him alone. Biblical figures like Enoch and Elijah separated themselves from mankind to walk with God in solitude, greatly pleasing Him and being taken without seeing death. This reveals a hidden principle: forsaking human fellowship for God alone guarantees divine favor. Your company reveals who you are. Religion keeps you among men and under human leaders. The sons of God are led only by the Spirit of God. As the saying goes: Show me your company, and I will tell you who you are.
