Protests Erupt In Haldwani Ahead Of Supreme Court Hearing In Encroachment Issue | Latest News

Protest has erupted in Haldwani ahead of the Supreme Court's hearing in the Haldwani encroachment issue. A shaheen Bagh kind of protest is seen in Haldwani. A massive protest was seen against the high court order mandating the removal of encroachments on railway property in Haldwani. The High Court had ordered that the building on the railway property in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, be demolished. Up to 4000 families could be forced to relocate. The administration has marked 2.9 kilometres in total for the anti-encroachment drive. A list of mosques and temples is included in this anti-encroachment campaign. Nine temples and twenty mosques are to be destroyed, according to the sources.
