Search and rescue operations are underway in Bali, Indonesia, after large-scale flooding and wild weather caused catastrophic damage across several regions. Videos posted to social media show residents wading through waist-high water as buildings, vehicles, homes, and motorbikes were swept away by powerful floodwaters. The heaviest rainfall hit on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with areas around Denpasar among the worst affected. West Denpasar in particular has seen extensive damage, with residential neighbourhoods and businesses submerged. In one video, a villa is struck by lightning, sparking a fire that gutted the building. Several districts including Padangsambian, Ubung, and Peguyangan have reported severe destruction, while landslides have blocked access routes in Karangasem. Authorities are working to reach isolated communities and assess the full extent of the damage as the death toll continues to rise.
