Hier dan mijn nieuwste creatie: Light of Truth You grew up in stained glass echoes Gold on the walls Rules in the air Every answer dressed in Latin And you were told “Don’t you dare” Ask why the ones in robes Spoke louder than the red words read Why candles felt so heavy While your heart felt underfed All of these questions You tried to push them down But something kept on calling Under all that sound Let the light of truth Cut through the smoke and the stage Every human throne Crumbles It can’t take His place Listen to His voice Written lines that still breathe Jesus is the living truth Every chain snaps when you believe You watched people bow to portraits Kiss a ring Recite a phrase Building ladders out of rituals Like they could climb their way to grace But you heard a different whisper “Come to Me I paid it all” All of these motions Can’t wash a guilty heart But one drop of mercy Tears the guilt apart No mediator in the middle Just a Savior when you call Let the light of truth Cut through the smoke and the stage Every human throne Crumbles It can’t take His place Listen to His voice Written lines that still breathe Jesus is the living truth Every chain snaps when you believe No crown on earth is flawless (hey!)
