Preaching Apocalyptic Texts: The Curious Case of 1 Peter

Apocalyptic texts in the #Bible are odd and mystifying. They are also under-preached (if they are preached at all). So, this video is an attempt at rectifying two key issues. 1) I aim to provide some methodological considerations for pastors about preaching these texts. 2) I walk through 1 Peter 3.13-22 (which I am preaching this upcoming Sunday at FBC Palos Verdes here in Los Angeles at 11.00am PST) and do dual-exegesis and presentation of how this text can be interpreted, applied, and lived out in accordance with holy living. We cannot run from apocalyptic texts or from difficult texts - so consider this video a substantial biblical challenge in the pursuit of proper interpretation and application.
