2022 SCCA Solo Nationals | 2nd A Street | Charles Krampert #94 DAY 1 WEST COURSE (2nd clip shown in this video) - I started run1 with the new Bridgestone's up front and Yokohama's in the rear. Some success on the TNT course seemed promising, however the car was a handful to drive....as you can see. The front axle was too responsive which would make the rear want to step out on every entry input. For a first run, it was decent, but was very difficult to drive at the limit - big mistakes especially at the beginning and end of this run. Things happen fast at nats. I kept these tires for run2 which was a mistake. For run3 I switched to fresh/clean Falken's up front, but no help as the accumulation of OPR on the rear made the car looser. I was under pressure to drive faster and overdrove. DAY 2 EAST COURSE (1st clip shown in this video) - This course was long, nearly a mile long. In AS we all didn't get much time to walk unless you walked 2 days prior. I was better focused on D2 with less distractions. I didn't bring tires, just my baseline setup. I also had a few people to help clean tires which I didn't have on the west course. This video shows my run2 (75.5) which would have been best in class on east, except I coned at 0:33-0:34 and the final two cones on course. If you look at the live delta-t on screen, you'll see I didnt benefit in those features. Even with my best clean run1 of 75.7 it was a very high PAXing run on the east side (something like 20th? of 1091 drivers). I was happy with how I drove on east. It was a great week of racing with a 1st at the ProSolo and 2nd at Solo Nationals. Congrats to Jake for laying down 2 great runs and taking his first national championship!
